EVIDENCE & LIMITS
From my own park Q&A. This describes my setup and how I felt during that stretch of work. I have not solved the balance, and this is not a claim about how every AI tool works.
There was always something still running
I would look at the clock and see six. The AI was still working. Then it would be seven. I would try to find a good stopping point.
Some nights, that turned into two or three in the morning at the office.
In the setup I was using, my laptop needed to stay open for the work to keep going. Closing it for the drive home felt like stopping progress.
There was always another task running, another thing to think through or another idea to give it. Finding a good place to stop became its own problem.
My photos showed a different part of life
My Instagram is full of nature and time outside. Those are real parts of my life. I like being out there.
But during the stretch I was talking about, a lot of my day had been spent inside. I was working on software, watching the work move along and giving the tools more things to do.
There were days with very little face-to-face time. At the office, I could talk with people and work through a problem together. Working alone at home felt different.
You could look at the pictures and miss that part. Even when I finally sat down outside to record, I was still doing something connected to the work.
Excited can sit next to isolated
During the recording, I reached for a word that did not quite fit. I corrected myself.
I was excited about life and the future. Detached and isolated were closer to what I was trying to describe about those days.
I had friends. I had things I cared about. I was also spending a lot of time alone in a room, talking to AI and working on a project.
Those feelings existed at the same time. I did not need to pretend that being excited about the work made the rest disappear.
The idea of being done
I could picture a point where the software was in a good place, more of the work was handled and I had more freedom to go live my life.
That was something I looked forward to. It was a hope for the future, not a claim that I had already built a fully automated business.
Then I caught myself. I like projects. I like working on things. There may always be another thing I want to build.
I have written about making room for a fuller life. While I was recording, I could feel the gap between wanting that and knowing how to make space for it.
I am still working this out
This was part of the same conversation where I questioned letting AI choose the questions. The tools were helping me make progress. They were also becoming a bigger part of how I spent my time.
I do not have a neat routine to share that fixed all of this. I still want to build. I also look forward to working less and exploring more.
I wanted to say that part out loud. Behind the outdoor pictures, I was still trying to work out how to make more room for the life I wanted.
